What happened with MyAlgo and how to stay safe?

What happened?

We recently received a notification from MyAlgo about a security breach. Our activity on the marketplace seems to be safe and unaffected. ✅

However, as a precautionary measure, EXA Market has decided to permanently remove MyAlgo from its compatible wallets.

👉 In the upcoming weeks, it will no longer be possible to log into EXA Market using MyAlgo. Final date TBD, stay tuned on social media. We give time to our users to take the appropriate measures.

Precautionary measures

1/ I do not use MyAlgo 🟢

In this case, no problem at all, the security flaw has been detected in MyAlgo. However, we invite you to use a Ledger as an additional precaution.

2/ I use MyAlgo and I also use a Ledger 🟡

In this case, your funds are not at risk because using a Ledger prevents you from security flaws. However, we are going to remove this provider very soon, you need to stop using MyAlgo.

You can choose between Pera Wallet or Defly Wallet, both are supported by Ledger.

3/ I use MyAlgo but I don't use any Ledger 🟠

In this case, you may be at risk. You must:

👉 Either rekey your wallet (i.e. generate a new mnemonic)

- with Pera Wallet

- with Defly Wallet

👉 Or create a brand new wallet (and transfer your funds from your current wallet to the new wallet). Check this article!
